Aaron Hernandez scrawled Bible verse on forehead and cell walls before suicide

Aaron Hernandez's suicide has rocked the sports world, and the chilling details continue to come out. Now, multiple reports have confirmed that Hernandez was found with "John 3:16" scrawled on his forehead and on his cell wall after his suicide.

The former tight end was also found with a Bible lying next to his body, opened to John 3:16. The verse, one of the most famous in the entire Bible, reads, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life." (NABRE). The words were written in a red marker, which was discovered along with the body when guards found Hernandez around 3 AM on Wednesday.

As far as we know, the verse was the only message Hernandez left behind. Authorities have not found any suicide note, and many of his friends and family are still reeling from the act itself. Prison officials have corroborated their shock, saying that there was no indication Hernandez was suicidal and that he would have been transported to a suicide watch unit had he displayed the inclination to harm or kill himself.
