Tom Brady dodges questions on Belichick-Guerrero beef
Tom Brady's body coach/life guru Alex Guerrero has made headlines recently for his reported feud with Pats head coach Bill Belichick. As a result, Belichick reportedly banned Guerrero from the sidelines on game days and prevented him from traveling with the Pats on road trips.
Brady was asked about the strained relationship during his press conference on Friday. He was pretty clearly annoyed at the reporter for bringing up the subject, and quickly sidestepped the repeated attempts at information. Video and transcript below (h/t PatriotsWire)
Reporter: “How did you react when Bill told you that he was going to do that?”
Brady: “Uhh, I don’t really agree with your question, so I don’t know what you’re talking about. How do you know what he said?”
Reporter: “So you’re saying the report that the access…”
Brady: “I’m not saying anything. I mean, how do you say that [Belichick] said anything? You don’t know anything about that.”
Reporter: “Bill never told you that…. He was removing Alex from the sideline…”
Brady: “Well, I have a lot of conversations with him, so those are private between he and I, and I don’t think anyone knows what we talk about. Certainly I’ve never talked about it and he’s never talked about it.
We'll just have to see how the saga between Belichick and Guerrero plays out. While it doesn't look like Guerrero will be getting access to Patriots facilities or the sideline again anytime soon, Belichick certainly can't attempt to stop Brady (or teammates like Rob Gronkowski) from working with him. Given that lack of options, the whole story will likely blow over soon---but it's not certainly a good look for the Patriots just ahead of the playoffs.
