Former Patriots running back Sammy Morris has been named running backs coach at D-III Dean College.

Morris played for the Pats for four seasons, from 2007 to 2010. In total, his career lasted 11 years, 3,053 rushing yards, and 27 total touchdowns. While he's occasionally worked off the books with Pats coaches since his retirement, and most recently held an assistant coaching gig at Attleboro High, this will be Morris' first full-time college coaching position.

Dean head coach Steve Tirrell issued the following statement on Morris' hiring: "We are extremely excited to announce the hiring of Sammy Morris to coach the running backs and special teams at Dean College. His knowledge and experience will make an immediate impact on our coaching staff and student athletes."
