NFL allows teams to wear alternate uniforms three times per season

The NFL recently announced a loosening of the uniform restrictions for teams. Instead of the previous two, teams will now be allowed to wear their alternate/throwback/color rush uniforms three times a season, per the MMQB's Peter King.

While the Patriots are still banned from wearing their awesome Pat Patriot red throwbacks--teams may only wear one type of helmet in a season, and the throwbacks have a white helmet while the team normally uses a silver shell--this means we'll probably get the chance to see the Color Rush duds (both all navy and all white) another week this upcoming season. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing depends on your perspective. But in my opinion, a little more variety is always nice to see in the week-to-week matchups.
