The Patriots announced Monday that they released safety David Jones and signed wideout Devin Lucien.
Jones landed with the Patriots last year as an undrafted rookie, but didn't make the team out of training camp. This is the second time the team has cut him.
Lucien, meanwhile, was a seventh-round pick out of ASU in 2016. He was released by the Pats before the start of the 2016 season, then came back for the 2017 offseason and didn't make the cut again. He bounced around four teams' practice squads last year (the Colts, Texans, Chiefs, and Bucaneers) during the season and was then signed by New England for this training camp.
