Brian Waters will not retire and will return to Patriots

There was talk after the New England Patriots lost Super Bowl XLVI that guard Brian Waters might be done. After taking time to mull his future, the 35-year-old Waters decided against retirement.

Waters is a no-show at this week's organized team activities, but the Boston Herald reported the longtime veteran has "planned all along" to return for his 13th NFL season and second campaign with the Patriots

This is huge news! Waters was not only a veteran leader in the locker room but played exceptionally well last year - earning a Pro Bowl nod for the second straight year. Waters has not shown up to voluntary OTAs because he has been spending time with his family, as is normally his custom this time of year.

There will still be much competition on the Patriots offensive line, but after Light retiring and Koppen, Mankins and Vollmer all coming back from injury, it will be nice to have some stability on the right side.
