The Jets keep on being the Bizzaro Patriots

Just some more proof today that the Jets are opposite of the Patriots in almost every way there is. From a boisterous head coach that's friendly to the media, and even gives them plenty of sound bites, to all the big name free agent acquisitions. The Jets are the bizzaro Patriots.

Another way that they are opposite surfaced today. Do you ever feel completely powerless as a fan of the Patriots? Like you never get what you want? To be honest, that's how it should be. Bill Belichick rarely ever makes the moves that the fans want him to. The Pats rarely ever trade or sign big name players, and when they do its been because the price just seemed to be right. For every Randy Moss or Corey Dillon there's 10 million Julius Peppers.

Even in the draft, Belichick rarely ever picks the players you think he will and other than this year he rarely trades up. Even more so than that, he always surprises with the positions he selects. The two years before this draft everyone thought Belichick would go heavy on defense, he didn't.

Well, it's just the opposite with the Jets fans according to former Jet Kris Jenkins in a story on NFL.com. Jenkins says Jets fans have all the power in New York.

"I think if the Jets fans knew how much power they had, they might fall back a little bit and not make as much noise," Jenkins told me during my Tuesday visit to Broadcast Boot Camp. "Wherever the mob goes, the organization is going to go."

This is an especially interesting point to make heading into Tim Tebow's first season in New York. Jenkins believes the organization is too responsive to what the fans want. Acquiring Tebow felt like a business move.

"The organization wants to sell tickets. They want to make money, sell merchandise and all of that. If the fans feel a certain way, the organization is going to be accommodating to them to a certain degree," Jenkins said. "That's going to affect how things are working in-house. That's going to affect decisions that are made."

Polar opposite of the Patriots. Belichick is all about how to make the best football team, not make headlines. The Patriots build their fanbase with their play on the field, the Jets look to other means.

Is there really a more perfect rivalry in the NFL?
