Ochocinco admits he never got the Patriots playbook
ProFootballTalk
A Dolphins source told Greg Bedard of the Boston Globe that Ochocinco admitted as much when he met with the team.
“The guy did all but admit that it was a struggle for him mentally, the playbook, all that stuff,’’ the source told Bedard. “He didn’t deny that it was a problem for him, learning it up there.’’
Now, he’s joined a team that had already installed most of its offense by the time he showed up. What could possibly go wrong?
Something we already knew of course, but now it's been almost confirmed. There's no other reason why Ochocinco barely saw the field last year.
During the beginning of the season I remember listening to an interview with one of the Bengals radio broadcasters, David Lapham, talking about Ochocino's struggles with even the Cincinnati playbook, the line used was something like, "If he was barely passing Algebra in Cincinnati, how was he supposed to get Calculus in New England?"
It will be interesting to see how Ochocinco fares in Miami. He has been working with the second team there so far but all of the reports about him have been positive. Again, the question with Ocho never really seemed to be that he physically didn't have it, it was all mental.
When HBO's Hard Knocks kicks off we'll get a good view of Ochocinco's performance in Miami when their training camp is featured in a way that Chad is comfortable with, on camera.
