Patriots sign Bo Scaife

CBS Boston Sports
The Patriots made some moves on Thursday morning, signing veteran tight end Bo Scaife and releasing defensive end Markell Carter, tight end Nick Melillo and offensive lineman Jon Opperud.

Scaife, 31, has spent his six-year NFL career with the Tennessee Titans. His most productive season came in 2008, when he caught 58 passes for 561 yards and two touchdowns for the 13-3 Titans, though he did haul in a career-high four touchdowns in 2010, his last season playing. He did not play last season after signing with the Bengals due to a shoulder injury. In his career, he has 251 catches, 2,383 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns in 90 games.

The Pats had Bo Scaife in for a try out last week.
