Are you ready for some football?

Dumb question, right? After a disappointing loss in February, and particularly after the disappointing hockey/basketball playoffs and disaster that is the Boston Red Sox, New England certainly seems to be ready.

Ready for something other than fat, overpaid pitchers. Ready for something other than gymnastics. Ready for something other than Food Network reruns.

Tonight's game will tell us some things and not tell us others. Like how do the rookies look against live competition? Real good live competition, by the way. Is the secondary improved? And so on.

Just keep in mind that you won't see too much of Tom Brady, et. al. and that you'll be seeing a lot of guys that you won't be seeing a month from now, or even a week from now.

But the main point is that football is back, and really, what is better than that?

Are you ready? Hell-to-the-yes we're ready.
