Jets' LaRon Landry is pissed at Bill Belichick

Apparently, there was a big reason why the Jets were such an appealing option. He’s ticked off at Bill Belichick, who wasn’t present for Landry’s workout.

“He wasn’t even there,” Landry told the New York Daily News. “So that was a no-brainer. I should have never taken that visit. I was like, ‘Damn, if you’re going to visit, the head coach (should be) there.’ I felt, ‘OK, that’s a slap in the face.’”

Landry worked out with the Patriots in the off-season but in the end, he obviously chose to sign with the Jets. After suffering an injury to the bone near his Achilles, Landry chose to ignore the advice of Redskins doctors and go to surgery. Instead, he chose alternative medicine and stem-cell treatment.

Why was Belichick not present at his workout? We can't really speculate on that. It's possible it's an indicator that the team wasn't really that interested in Landry due to the aforementioned injury.

Landry is a guy that holds a grudge as he hates Redskins coach Mike Shanahan. He had an impressive debut for the Jets with seven tackles, two quarterback hits and a forced fumble.

The knock on Landry is that he isn't great in coverage and also that he can't stay healthy. We'll see what happens over the course of the season but this adds just another layer to the Patriots-Jets rivalry.
