Patriots Defense Looking Solid

After a highly anticipated improved defense, the Patriots have proved that they are not only a threat when Brady has the ball, but they are confident in their rookies and their defense as a whole.

Bringing in rookies Chandler Jones and Dont'a Hightower showed to be one of the many reasons that the defense has improved.

When compared to last year's week one game against the Miami Dolphins, New England allowed its opponent to record 488 yards where 390 were passing yards and 98 rushing yards. Sunday's game against the Titans, the Patriots held Tennessee to 284 yards, 264 passing yards and 20 rushing yards.

New England's defensive touchdown came when Jones stripped sacked Titans' quarterback Jake Locker giving Hightower a chance to quickly scoop up the ball and run into the end zone.

Vince Wilfork, as always, was a monster where Titans star running back Chris Johnson was held to only four yards on 11 carries.

The young aggressive high energy defense makes the Patriots a well rounded team. Not only are they a powerhouse offensively, but their defense adds another element and makes the Patriots a solid team.
