Patriots Offense Will Power Through Buffalo

The New England Patriots are 1-2. And that is not acceptable by Tom Brady's standards. Nor by Bill Belichick's. The offense will feel like they've lost those games for the team, with penalties and a generally poor performance against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 2, and they simply couldn't close out the Sunday Night Football game against the Baltimore Ravens, despite creating a lead. Tell me that the Brady Bunch aren't going to take it out on the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

Many Pats fans will point to the Bill's pass rush, created by the likes of Mario Williams. But the pass protection looked great in Baltimore, with the help of Brady looking more comfortable moving around in the pocket and creating time. Brady looked like his old self in that game, as the 300 yards suggest.

The re-emergence of Wes Welker also gives Brady the quick option if he is under pressure, and Brandon Lloyd has been making some crazy catches, and you only have to look at Rob Gronkowski's numbers vs the Bills in 4 games to see he's going to have a good day. He had 100+ yards and 2 TD's in each game vs the Bills last season, and 7 TD's overall.

Also, statistically, the Bills are pretty average in yards given up. And for a much praised defense to be middle of the pack after games against the New York Jets, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Cleveland Browns, my feeling is that the Patriots can beat up on these guys easily.

These Patriots are pissed. They will not lose 3 games in a row. Count on 30+ on Sunday.

Random Notes:

  • If you didn't see the all new South Park on Wednesday, I thoroughly recommend it. Brady makes a "guest appearance", and let's say it's less than complimentary. However, you can also see Peyton Manning in a bra. And that will make any Pats fan happy.
  • Interesting stat of the week. Week 3 was the first time ever that Brady, Manning, Roethlisberger, Brees and Rodgers all lost on the same weekend. Damn replacement refs...
