Titans Game Plan to Slow Down Patriots Offense

Ever since Tom Brady took over from under center the Patriots have had a dangerous offense. Now, some may say the current offense is unstoppable. With the two tight end formation with Gronk and Aaron Hernandez, the Patriots are going to cause some trouble, and no one knows that better than defensive coordinators.

The Wrecking Crew
A reporter asked Titan's defensive coordinator Jerry Gray how he plans on stopping the offense, he said,
"Give the ball 50 times to Chris Johnson."

That's short and sweet, but I don't think he could have said this any better.  Jerry Gray knows his defense needs to do all they can to stop Rob Gronkoswski and the Patriots offense. He knows the Patriot's offense is going to put up some big numbers. The Patriots will put up big numbers against the better defenses in the league. So its the Titan's offense that will need to come through and score some points.

But lets say Chris Johnson doesn't rush for 200 yards and 5 touchdowns, there is another way to stop the two tight end set.
The Titans can counter by using a dime set with six defensive backs, with the option of playing three safeties at once. Both the Giants and Bills employed three-safety packages in wins over New England last season. Last September,Buffalo safties Jairus ByrdGeorge Wilson and Da'Norris Searcy help spur a 21-point comeback in the 34-31 win. Gronkowski still finished with seven catches for 109 yards and two touchdowns, and Wes Welker had 16 catches for 217 yards and two scores.
