Dont'a Hightower and Julian Edelman out

For anyone that missed this news on twitter last night, Hightower and Edelman are officially out. Though neither is a surprise, Edelman is the lesser of the two and probably the least impactful.

Hightower on the other hand was off to a great start to his rookie season, but his hamstring injury has now sidelined him for two straight weeks. Look for Bobby Carpenter to get the start here, as he was recently brought on for insurance.

The Hightower thing is a little puzzling because he's been consistently practicing the past two weeks, perhaps he just hasn't looked healthy enough with his injury to get on the field? Hopefully he returns soon.

Rookie linebacker Dont'a Hightower and fourth-year wide receiver Julian Edelman have been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Seahawks.

Hightower, who has been limited with a hamstring injury, will miss his second straight game. His top backup, Tracy White (foot), is also out, so the Patriots are thin on the strong side.

One possibility is defensive end Rob Ninkovich moving to that spot.
