Patriots Fantasy Football: Woody is a sleeper this week

If you have Danny Woodhead on your fantasy team, give him a chance this weekend against the Buffalo Bills.
Two years ago, in Danny Woodhead's New England Patriot debut, Woody ran for 43 yards and a touchdown in Foxboro. Later in the year, at Buffalo, Woodhead ran for 93 yards and a score. Yes, that was two years ago and his stats have no bearing on this Sunday's game at Gillette Stadium, however, the point is that Woodhead has historically had his best statistical games against the Bills.

Earlier this season, although Woodhead didn't record a carry, the fourth-year running back out of Chadron State caught two passes for 23 yards. On a crucial third down play, Brady scrambled and found Woodhead, who eluded a tackler and scampered into the end zone for a 17-yard touchdown catch that turned the game around.

Woodhead will not put up gaudy stats, and starting him on your fantasy team is quite a reach, but being that this is catered to Patriots fans who have a surplus of Pats on their fantasy squad, Woodhead might get you some much-needed points this weekend. Being a member of the Patriots' offense, Woody has a great chance of finding the end zone, and as previously stated, he's had luck against Buffalo. But this argument is not without backing, with Brandon Bolden still held out of practice, Woody has a firm grasp of a spot in the backfield rotation. Like Stevan Ridley and Shane Vereen, Woodhead is guaranteed snaps and possible touches on Sunday.

Give him a go, and see where he takes you.
