Why facing Andrew Luck is going to suck

Because he might be the best quarterback that the Patriots will face this year. Or maybe second best, behind Peyton Manning.

The Patriots have really had a run of not so great quarterbacks. Really, other than Peyton I guess Joe Flacco's the best one?

They've faced Jake Locker, Matt Hasselbeck, Kevin Kolb, Joe Flacco, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Peyton Manning, Russell Wilson, Mark Sanchez and Sam Bradford. Not exactly the cream of the crop there.

Luck has been lighting up the NFL as he broke Cam Newton's record for most passing yards by a rookie two weeks ago.

Luck is more similar to Newton than you might think. He ran for two touchdowns in a win over Jacksonville and has five on the year, one ahead of Cam Newton's four.

One thing that Luck might need to get better at is protecting the football. He's had a couple of multiple interception games and has nine on the year. I suppose that's a little expected for a rookie though.

Still, that happens to be one of the Patriots strong suits. If they are going to beat a good quarterback, they're going to need to make him make mistakes.

I know that Aqib Talib will be playing this week but I'm not expecting him to have a lights out game his first time playing football in weeks. Especially in a new system that former plays have described as "complicated".

Andrew Luck should scare you. He scares me.
