Julian Edelman seen leaving the game on crutches and in a walking boot

As if the Patriots needed another injury, Julian Edelman left the Patriots-Dolphins game in the fourth quarter and didn't return. WEEI reported after the game that Edelman was seen on crutches and in a walking boot:

Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman was spotted by several reporters wearing a walking boot and using crutches after Sunday's win over the Dolphins. Edelman, who left the game in the fourth quarter and was announced as "questionable" to return, finished the game with one catch for 13 yards. It is the latest injury in a rough season for Edelman, who has been slowed by a hand injury, as well as a concussion he suffered in the late stages of last Thursday's win over the Jets.

Unfortunately, no further updates on Edelman's status have been made tonight so we don't know the extent of the injury.

This is a really inopportune time to potentially lose Edelman, as the Patriots have the Houston Texans and the San Francisco 49ers coming up on the schedule. With Baltimore's loss to the Steelers today, both the Ravens and the Pats have 9-3 records, so New England really needs to win the next few games to ensure the Patriots a bye in the first round of the playoffs.
