Joe Flacco calls cold weather Super Bowl 'retarded'

In an interview during Joe Flacco's first day in New Orleans, he slipped up with his choice of words. He was asked about his thoughts on the Super Bowl being played in cold weather, since it is scheduled for New York next year.
"Yeah," Flacco said. "I think it's retarded."

I mean at least he realized his mistake and tried to cover it up a little when he reworded his response to "stupid". He also said, "I probably shouldn't have said that."

With this week being the most important week during the whole pre, regular, and post season of the NFL, the cameras are always rolling and the microphones are on at all times. No one can take back anything that comes out of their mouth. When someone uses this word to equate to something they don't like or they think is bad, it reflects negatively on the person who uses it. Maybe he doesn't know anyone with disabilities, but that doesn't excuse him. 1 in 5 Americans have some type of disability, and a word like that can be very hurtful. You would think by now he's trained to watch his mouth in front of the cameras.
