LeBron James claims to be faster than Manti Te'o

Manti Te'o has taken more than his fair share of abuse from the media during his football career, but now he's getting made fun by other athletes. LeBron James of the Miami Heat made a joke about Manti Te'o's 4.8 second 40 yard dash during the Combine. James was talking about his own experiences running the 40 yards...
"It's better than Manti Te'o, I'll tell you that," James said, according to USA TODAY Sports' Nicole Auerbach. "Better than Te'o."

He also added in that he ran a 4.6 in training last summer. There's a difference between training for endurance and sprinting.
"He reaches maximum speed at about 20 and there's no increase from there." Analyst Mike Mayock said when he evaluated Manti Te'o's performance. "I think we saw the same thing there. And that's OK. Again, he's an inside linebacker and you've got to go back to the tape. And there's going to be a lot of questions. He's – quote – only a 4.8 guy."

In my opinion, Manti Te'o is a good football player. There's nothing wrong with not being as fast as everyone else when you're a solid, dependable player like him. Not every position needs to be able to run as fast as the other ones do. I don't see him having any trouble getting drafted into the NFL. I wish people would stop butchering Te'o in the media as much as they do, and focus on more important things than his personal life.
