Patriots (officially) sign Armond Armstead

The Patriots have officially signed 6'5'' 298 lb defensive lineman Armond Armstead of the Toronto Argonauts. The terms of the deal have not yet been announced. This news seems old but the Patriots never offially announced the signing until this morning.

Armstead is 22 years old and was a key to the Argonauts success last season, helping them to the Grey Cup title(CFL championship). He played his collegiate football at USC and started 24 games there from 2008-2010.

Many saw Armond as a late first round pick in the draft but he suffered a heart attack that forced him to go to the CFL instead of being drafted. So the Patriots could have gotten a steal, getting first round talent without the use of a pick, but only time will ell the impact Armond Armstead has on the Patriots.
