Brent Grimes signs with Miami Dolphins

Brent Grimes was the best cornerback left on the market and could become one of the best corners in the league if he can stay healthy. The Patriots were never rumored to be interested in him as they might feel they are set at cornerback for right now after re-signing Aqib Talib, Marquice Cole and Kyle Arrington.

Grimes actually got a little bit more than Aqib Talib which is kind of surprising. We'll see if passing on Grimes comes back to bite the Patriots, though at that price he would've basically used up all of their remaining cap space (after draft, emergency and resigning expenses).

The team still has plenty of needs to fill and, as I've written earlier, they are probably hoping that John Abraham or Dwight Freeney come down on their asking price and sign with them. They can then move on to fill other holes that remain on the roster through other free-agent signings or the draft. Needs that remain are depth on the offensive line, defensive line and wide receiver.
