Josh Cribbs is going to either New England or Arizona

Free agency has kicked off, and what a busy night it was... Well, maybe not so much for the New England Patriots. But let's get all the cliches out of the way: The Super Bowl was never won in March, the Patriots never make top dollar signings right at the beginning of the year, etc. So what were you expecting?

Now that the early flurry is done, things could settle down. But the fate of Josh Cribbs could be decided very shortly...

Okay then. Where does Cribbs fit? Firstly, Special Teams. This guy is brilliant at returning kicks and punts. Him and Jeff Demps back on kick returns could be insane. He's not a great receiver, so there's no way he can replace Wes Welker or Brandon Lloyd, but he would be a solid 3rd WR, and a nice 5th target after Welker, Lloyd (assuming they both stay), Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez. So I like the move, as long as he's 3rd on the WR depth chart.

If Cribbs does come in, it could mean the end for Julian Edelman. They are 2 very similar players, Edelman's a good special teams player who hasn't quite got it together in the passing game when he "took over" for Welker.

Of course, Edelman might be Welker's full time replacement, with Cribbs taking over Edelman's previous role. Which I would not approve of.

This is all if Cribbs even comes... (This is starting to hurt my head)

How would Cribbs fit with the Arizona Cardinals then? Well, in a very similar way. The thought of him and Patrick Peterson returning kicks is even more frightening. And the Cards need receivers too: They've got Larry Fitzgerald of course, but apart from that, pretty much nothing (they'll be hoping Michael Floyd makes a big year 2 jump).

So, for Cribbs, here's you're choice: Go to Arizona, where you'll be the 3rd WR and 2nd KR for a team with a good defense, but a stinking offense with only Fitzgerald to offer, in a bitch of a division which you've got no shot of winning. OR come to New England, to be 3rd WR and probably 2nd KR for a team with an improving defense, and one of the best offenses ever, led by a future HOF QB and Head Coach, and a basically guaranteed division title...

Seems pretty simple to me. But after going over all the possibilities for a bit part player, I know I can't wait for some actual football to be played...
