Poll: Do you believe Robert Kraft?

Earlier this afternoon, Robert Kraft spoke pretty candidly about the Wes Welker situation. It's not often that an owner - or anyone with the team - goes into such detail about contract negotiations. Kraft and the Patriots have been the victims of some pretty serious scrutiny recently.

After Wes Welker left the Patriots for a measly difference of $2 million, many assumed the Patriots didn't want him. Kraft had just stated publicly that he wanted the Welker to retire a Patriot, so after the receiver became a Bronco, fans just believe Kraft flat out lied.

Of course, Kraft begs to differ. A day after Welker's agent claimed that the Patriots didn't want Welker and they never offered him a contract, the Patriots owner went off.

He said everything from "the Patriots wanted Welker" to "he's sad that he's gone" to blasting Welker's agents for misjudging the market. Kraft also addressed Tom Brady being upset, denying that the QB requested the team keep Welker or that he was upset. HE also added "I don't answer to Tom Brady".

Kraft also claimed that the Patriots actually offered Welker more than the Broncos, insinuating that Welker actually has a one-year deal with Denver as he could likely be cut since he'll have an $8 million cap hit next year.

Here's the full transcript. Now, vote in the poll. Do you believe him?
