Rob Gronkowski vs Adrian Peterson in Madden Cover Vote

The Madden team has had the brilliant idea in recent years to leave the Madden cover athlete up to the vote of the fans. In past years the winners selected by the fans have been Peyton Hillis and Calvin Johnson.

Patriots fan favorite Rob Gronkowski has now advanced to the Sweet 16 to face reigning MVP Adrian Peterson. Fresh off a blowout victory over Darrelle Revis, Gronk faces tougher competition in Peterson who's received 90% or above in all of the matchups previous.

Of course, you can't talk about the Madden Cover without mentioning the Madden curse. Most Patriots fans will probably vote for Peterson to keep Gronk from falling victim to the curse that inflicts so many cover boys. Last year, Gronk already had two arm surgeries after being put on the cover of Sports Illustrated NFL preview edition. Now the next year we're going to put him on the Madden cover? Poor guy.

Anyway you can vote against Gronk over at ESPN (www.ESPN.com/MaddenVote ) through April 3rd. The winner will be announced on ESPN's SportsNation on April 24th.
