Patriots aggressively trying to move Jeff Demps
Jeff Demps decided he wanted to split time between track and football this year, meaning he'd miss about five games.
Yeah, the Patriots are not down for that.
They've been rumored to be wanting to move him ever since he made that clear. Apparently his agent thinks that some teams would be willing for him to miss that much time in the regular season.
We suspected draft day might be the day to do this and it appears it could go down soon.
Heard more on Demps: No terms have been finalized on anything, but there are aggressive discussions.

The Pats would likely be looking to pick up a sixth round pick. Remember, the Buccaneers were heavily interested in Demps in August last year so they could be a trade partner here. They are all set at running back with Doug Martin so they could afford to let Demps miss some time.
Demps was a silver medal winning Olympic runner in last year's olympics. He was also a running back at Florida. He went undrafted after telling teams that he wanted to focus on track, but signed with the Patriots late in August. He was injured in the final preseason game and placed on season ending IR. It turns out that may have been the last time he put on a Patriots uniform. His obvious speed was thought to hopefully be a boost to the Patriots return game, something they've addressed this off-season with the signing of Leon Washington.
