Patriots Meeting "Intimately" with CB Desmond Trufant

If Tyrann Mathieu gets grabbed before the Patriots have their chance at him, don’t be worried because Desmond Trufant might be before Mathieu on the Patriots wish list at the end of this month. Now I know Mathieu may be the sexy name in this year’s draft, but Trufant seems to be catching the interest of Bill Belichick and the Patriots draft professionals.

Voted captain of his Washington Huskies in 2012, Trufant received numerous awards in his time in Washington. Durability has been a huge concern at that position for the Patriots so when I look and see he had started 45 games in a row at one point I can’t help but like what this kid’s all about. He was named first-team all-pac-12 and according to him, the Patriots met with him “on a more intimate level.”

I’m glad that the Patriots’ focus seems to be on the defensive side of the ball because that’s where they fell short. Trufant has shown tremendous leadership and skill at that position and on top of that, he turns his freaking head! Here’s a short video.
