LeGarrette Blount settling in with Patriots

LeGarrette Blount has the potential to make a sizable impact on the Patriot's offense this season. After losing his job to rookie sensation Doug Martin, he was traded to the Patriots, taking a $570,000 pay cut. He has good speed for his size at 6'0'' 250 pounds so he can pound the ball down the middle but also bounce it outside and is rarely taken down by arm tackles in the open field. Blount recognizes the type of back he is saying:
"I'm just a big, physical running back. Being the size that I am is good for me and the style I use to run the football. I'm just a downhill, physical running back, kind of old school.

Given Blount's past disciplinary problems(punching a Boise St. player in the face), he seems to be doing a great job finding his place on the team and learning the "Patriot way," something players sometimes fail to do as they join the organization. He knows the offense is a complex scheme and that it takes time to master.

"Definitely, you've got to do a lot of studying. With Tom and all of the other quarterbacks here, everybody that has been here for a while kind of knows this. So you get thrown into the fire. As long as you stay in your playbook and just keep up with everybody else as OTAs go along, I'll be good."
Not that LeGarrette is a big media character or anything, but he is saying all of the right things and is focusing on what really matters in New England: football. @joeloobs @PatriotsLife
