Jake Ballard taken off PUP list

That didn't take long.

Tight end Jake Ballard was initially placed on the PUP list, due to his recovery from microfracture surgeries. However, it appears as if he will be fine to start camp after all.

BostonHerald:
Patriots tight end Jake Ballard passed his physical and conditioning test today, so he has been removed from the physically unable to perform list, according to a source. He can begin practicing Friday with the rest of the team.

The decision to place Ballard on PUP yesterday was precautionary, as he is still slowly recovering from February 2012 ACL and microfracture surgeries. But, since he proved he is physically able to practice, the Patriots will have him out there.

The Patriots will reply on Ballard more than they initially thought. The Patriots claimed Ballard on waivers last year when he was released by the Giants. It was a move that was met with some criticism, as the Giants intended to bring Ballard back and place him on IR.
