Tebow Doing Drills With Tight Ends and Running Backs

Today, Tim Tebow has been practicing with wide receivers and running back’s in some kind of a strange formation. It’s obvious that when Josh McDaniels drafted him, he had some ideas about how to use him, but never got the opportunity. Until now?

Bill Belichick spoke with the media this morning and according to Marc Sessler of NFL.com, he was very vague in his description of how Tebow may be used. Obviously when he doesn’t answer it creates buzz and in reality, he just doesn’t want to give away his plans and make it easier for teams to defend him.

"He's got a great work ethic. Great," Belichick said “and we don't doubt Tebow could see sub-package work. He could be employed as a pass-catching H-back-type in rare situations, sure, but that won't include pulling Brady off the field, or turning Tebow into a starting NFL tight end.”

Belichick said all this before the news broke about Tebow in practice so maybe they are just doing what the Patriots do, which is training players to be versatile and be able to fill in to multiple positions, but maybe not. I wouldn’t expect Tebow to be a tight end any time soon as the Patriots, when healthy, will be working with Rob Gronkowski, Jake Ballard, Michael Hoomanawanui and Zach Sudfeld.

Reports also surfaced on the article by Marc Sessler that Jake Ballard’s speed is “shot” which isn’t what Patriots fans want to hear. With four total names, two are questionable in talent and two are questionable with injury concerns Tebow just may find himself at the end of the offensive line this season.
