Tom Brady pushing the Offense

The New England Patriots announced their MVP's of the off season last week by awarding the winners with the prime parking spaces at the Gillette Stadium.  Many familiar names on both sides of the ball were recipients of the spots, along with some new comers but one name stood out for being back on that list; Tom Brady.

After always being named one of the MVP's of the off season to start his career, recently Tom Brady had not been a recipient of the prized parking spot.  He chose to do more work on his own and spend more time with his family. At that point in his career and with his success, he had most certainly earned that right.

This year Tom traded in his nights spent dancing at carnival in Rio and conquering water slides for more time spent at the teams facilities with all the new pieces on offense.  He has gone at this off season with the same enthusiasm as he displayed in his down time in previous years and has offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels reminiscing of a younger Tom Brady
“He has such a youthful enthusiasm about himself and the way he goes about his day and training camp each day, that reminds me of when he was younger every time I see him.”

That passion for football still burns deep inside Brady which has been clearly evident this off season and early on in training camp. Recognizing the short time to acclimate with basically a new receiving core Tom Brady has been unafraid to display that fire when things are not going well.
“I don’t want to be a grumpy old guy,” he said. “I understand there’s a learning curve and there’s a patience. I think you try to let them know though, that there’s an urgency about it, so it’s not like you can afford mistakes.”

With the first few days of training camp gone it has been widely reported that the offense still has some kinks to work out, although this is usually the case every year.  Luckily for the Patriots it appears that the new crop of receivers are learning quickly
“We have a pretty smart group of guys. That’s been a positive,” Brady said.
With Tom Brady's desire to lift another Lombardi trophy pushing this group of receivers, they better be smart enough to realize if they do not get on the same page as him quickly they'll probably need those "smarts" to look for another job.
