OVER/UNDER: 5 interceptions (Regular Season)
Prediction- Under (4 interceptions): Since entering the league, Talib's pick totals and games played have gone as follows by season:
- 2008: 15 GP, 4 INT
- 2009: 15 GP, 5 INT
- 2010: 11 GP, 6 INT
- 2011: 13 GP, 2 INT
- 2012: 10 GP, 2 INT
No doubt that when healthy this guy is a legit #1 cornerback, but I do have concerns about his health. He was an immediate boost to a struggling secondary when the team acquired him last season, but he was hobbled by injuries down the stretch, including during the AFC Championship game against the Ravens.
I think Talib will play in around 14 games this year, but I see him snagging right around 4 picks. He will need to step up this season as a leader on-field and off, as his is the most talented and capable cover man currently on the roster, and is surrounded by young defensive backs who need to grow for the defense to thrive.
