Amendola: Brady like a coach on the field

After a fantastic game last night, Danny Amendola briefly spoke to the media. He touched on various topics including the offense's mindset, his touchdown, and high praise for quarterback Tom Brady. Amendola even went as far as saying the Patriots QB is 'like a coach on the field' and heralded the captain's leadership.

Amendola's performance definitely raised eyebrows around the league. His route running and hands were jaw-dropping, but what really stuck out was his chemistry with Tom Brady. One play that sticks out to me most was a third and long situation; Brady was under pressure but stepped into it with confidence, fired the ball down the left sideline where Amendola was in perfect position to catch the pass and get the first down.

What I heard last night for the first time was that the QB and WR spent a significant amount of time with each other, running routes during the offseason. The possibilities for the newly established Brady-to-Amendola connection could be endless. At this point, watching these two connect could be what I am looking forward to the most this season.
