Fantasy Fix: Wide Receiver Stock Watch

Every year in Fantasy Football, once preseason games start, there are players whose stocks begin to rise and those that begin to fall.

Sometimes an exciting rookie makes some noise in August, the hype begins and his stock goes up. Other times, a veteran player struggles or suffers an injury and his stock falls faster than Facebook's IPO. Try not to buy into the hype or the hate when it comes to preseason football.

With that being said, let's run down the wide receivers whose stock is either rising or falling in 2013 Fantasy Football.

Riser: Kenbrell Thompkins, New England Patriots: This off-season everyone was wondering whom Tom Brady was going to throw the ball to other than Danny Amendola. The Patriots think they may have found the answer. Kenbrell Thompkins has been an eye opener this pre-season. The undrafted rookie has 13 catches for 142 yards through three preseason games. Target Thompkins around the 10th round in your draft and hope he doesn't turn into Bam Childress.

Riser: Michael Floyd, Arizona Cardinals: Floyd has all the tools to be a great number two wideout. He just needs a real quarterback throwing him the ball. Floyd has one now with Carson Palmer donning the crimson. Floyd will get single coverage all year long with Larry Fitzgerald on the opposite side of the field. Watch Floyd have a breakout season. Just make sure he's doing it on your team.

Faller: Eric Decker, Denver Broncos: Decker had the eighth most points among fantasy receivers last season and is being drafted in the fifth or sixth round this year. Don't be drafting him there. The addition of Wes Welker pushes Decker out of the starting spot. There just are not enough balls to go around. That is unless Peyton Manning can throw with both arms. That would be cool.

Faller: DeSean Jackson, Philadelphia Eagles: Jackson is such a fantasy tease. He tantalized us in his sophomore season and fantasy ballers have been over-drafting him ever since. His numbers have fallen every year since 2009. With no other real options for Michael Vick to throw to, Jackson will see a lot of double coverage. That means interceptions for Vick, no catches for Jackson and (in my best Soup Nazi voice) no points for you.
