Brandon Lloyd may retire

Brandon Lloyd wasn't able to give the Patriots the explosive season that many had been hoping for. After some solid years in Denver and St. Louis, it was thought of as a lock that Lloyd would shine with the Patriots. It didn't exactly happen.

Lloyd did give the team a great option on the outside, as his sideline catches were some of the best I've seen in a long time. However, he couldn't get much consistent separation and slowly found himself becoming less and less involved in the offense.

The Patriots let Lloyd go in March, partly due to his quirky lockerroom behavior and also because he couldn't agree to a restructured contract with the Patriots.

Lloyd has gotten no interest since being released and it appears as if he's willing to hang it up all together.

After a breakout year in 2010, Lloyd had his worse season since with the Patriots (911 yards, 4 TDs). Overall, that wasn't seen as enough to the Patriots, or any other team in the NFL.
