Dennard court hearing delayed again

Alfonzo Dennard was scheduled to appear in court tomorrow for a hearing set to determine if he violated his probation when he was arrested on July 11th for suspicion of DUI in Lincoln, Nebraska. The probation stemmed from charges faced for assaulting a police officer during his senior year at Nebraska, prior to being drafted by the Patriots.

Dennard, now an integral piece of the Patriot's secondary and team, was sentenced to two years probation and 30 days in jail (to be served in March 2014), thus avoiding having to miss any time this season. But that is now in jeopardy, as if he is found to have violated his probation, the judge could order him to serve the jail time sooner than originally planned.

This is the second time the hearing has been rescheduled. It is now set for September 16th at 10:30 AM. This falls four days after the Pats second regular season game against the Jets.
