The Patriots Road to MetLife Stadium MVP of Week 1 is....

As we announced yesterday, we're looking to chronicle the Patriots quest on the Road to MetLife Stadium for the Super Bowl. To do this, we're highlighting heroes from each and every game. A weekly Patriots MVP voted by you!

Over the past couple days, we've asked you guys to weigh in on who you believed was the hero of the Week 1 victory over the Buffalo Bills.

Since the Jets game is right around the corner, we're announcing the player with the most votes early.

So, your Road to MetLife Stadium Week 1 MVP was...

Danny Amendola

It's not surprise that Amendola earned the MVP honors for the Patriots after such a gutsy performance. The receiver was struggling with a groin injury heading into the game, an injury that lingered since the third preseason game.

He actually had to come out of the game in the second quarter when he aggravated the injury and wasn't expected to return after halftime. However, he did return and finished the game with 10 catches for over 100 yards. Most importantly, he made some key third down catches in the final stretch of the game to ultimately help the Pats come from behind and win in the final seconds.

How big of a winner was Amendola?

He receives the Road to MetLife Stadium honor with 55.5% of the vote.
Behind him was Julian Edelman with 20.8%.
Then, Shane Vereen with 11.1%
Tom Brady with 8.3%.
Kyle Arrington with 2.7%.
Stephen Gostowski with 1.4%.

Remember, look out every day after the Patriots game for the Road to MetLife Stadium Patriots MVP poll. Every vote earns you an entry into a raffle to win the end of the year Patriots MVP's jersey.
