Is Chandler Jones playing at a Pro Bowl level?

Chandler Jones is having a hell of a season.

The Patriots team as a whole isn't near the top of the list in terms of pass rush, but the defensive end in his sophomore year is certainly right up there with the best of the outside rushers.

Jones leads his teammates in nearly every category. He currently has 6.5 sacks (more than he had all of last year), he has 13 quarterback hits. He is also second to Rob Ninkovich on the team with 18 quarterback hurries. (stats via WEEI) Jones is currently on pace for 15 sacks on the year, a remarkable feat if he's able to reach it. Though short of the 19 sacks Jones tabbed himself for in the offseason.

This week, Chandler Jones was tied for fourth in the league in pressure points for edge rushers. Jones has been quite the regular in the top 10 over there, being tracked by MMQB's Greg Bedard.

Pressure points grade pass rushers not just by sacks, but more advanced categories that give a more accurate impression of a defensive lineman's effect. These include drawn holds, sack assists, quarterback hurries etc. This week, Jones 1 solo sack, 1 easy sack, 3 quarterback hurries and two QB hits for a total of 4.5 pressure points.

With the team missing both Vince Wilfork and Jerod Mayo for the year, it becomes that much more important that Jones keeps up the great start to the season that he's having.
