Patriots release Zach Sudfeld, place Vince Wilfork on IR

After a strong camp, Patriots tight end Zach Sudfeld did very little to help himself.

Many thought he might be able to help fill the void while Rob Gronkowski was out recovering. That was never the case. He fumbled a ball in the Patriots third preseason game against the Lions, and then caused an interception in the team's first game against the Bills. He was injured on that play, and saw very little playing time since. The move doesn't come as surprise at this point.


Vince Wilfork also officially hits the season ending injured reserve, meaning we won't see him at any point this season again. That's not new news either.
