Patriots put Tommy Kelly on Season Ending Injured Reserve

 Another day, another injury blow to the Patriots defense.

Just a few days ago, things were looking positive for the big defensive tackle to return to the field soon. Kelly practiced on a limited basis on Wednesday and Thursday before suffering a setback that caused him to miss yesterday's practice. It's now obvious that setback is season ending.

Kelly will be a big loss for a defense that has already lost Vince Wilfork and Jerod Mayo to season-ending injuries this year. Isaac Sopoaga, acquired this week from the Eagles via trade, will see a heightened role for the rest of the season, while undrafted rookies Chris Jones and Joe Vellano will continue to see lots of snaps.

As you can see in the picture, this news makes sad Tommy Kelly very sad.
