With a steady rain pouring down on Gillette Stadium, the Patriots put the game in the hands of their running game. For the second straight week, the running game delivered.

LeGarrette Blount rushed for 189 yards and two touchdowns, adding 145 return yards for a 334 total yard day. Stevan Ridley also chipped in with 74 yards as the Patriots rushed for 267 yards, beating the Bills 34-20. The win clinches the AFC's #2 seed and a first round playoff bye.

Despite the rushing performance, this was a close game for most of the way. The Patriots red zone offense struggled once again, scoring a touchdown on only one of their four opportunities. They also weren't the only ones to have success on the ground, as Buffalo ran for 169 yards, 105 from CJ Spiller and another from 60 and a touchdown by Fred Jackson.

The weather had a noticeable impact on the game. Both passing games struggled, with Tom Brady going 14/24 for 122 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception. His counterpart Thaddeus Lewis had his moments, but his 16-28, 247 yard, 1 touchdown performance wasn't enough for the Bills.
