Devin McCourty says there'd be no better feeling in the world than eliminating Ravens

You read that right. There's a Patriots player with a bit of trash talk.

Of course, this is much more mild than what we hear from the Ravens side of things (Like the time Suggs said, "Tell them to have fun at the Pro Bowl. Arrogant Fuckers.")

Still, Patriots safety Devin McCourty was not shy about how he and the rest of the team feel about the Baltimore Ravens, who they'll play this Sunday at 4:25 PM EST.

CSNNE:
“I’ll put it this way: there would be no better feeling than us beating them Sunday and (if Miami wins)… we eliminate their season right there. For me and for a lot of my teammates there’d be no better feeling. So it’s gonna be key to come out and play well on Sunday.”

Damn right! This is the coolest thing a Patriots player has said about the Ravens since Tom Brady said, "they talk a lot for only beating us once in nine years".

Of course, that was quite awhile ago.

This should be a close contest, as these games usually are. Five of the last eight have been decided by six points or less.

The last time these two teams played it was in the AFC Championship game, and this week's contest has almost as much on the line. A Ravens loss would put them in danger of missing the playoffs completely, as a Miami win could knock them out.

Similarly, the Patriots would be looking at a decent shot of missing the playoffs themselves with a loss in Baltimore (That scenario's layed out nicely here).

So, that just adds all the more intensity to an already intense rivalry. Don't believe it's intense? Just ask McCourty.

Does he really hate Baltimore?

“A little bit,” he admitted.

More than the Jets?

“It’s close. The Jets might be at the top of that.”

If it's on the level of the Jets, that tells you everything you need to know. The Patriots players might be undermanned, but they'll be plenty fired up for this one.
