Patriots re-sign Austin Collie

As with anything with the Patriots, it's unclear what the situation is with receiver Austin Collie.

What we do know is that the receiver suffered a knee injury in a win over the Steelers, he did not return to that game, and never returned to the team. He was cut a few days after the game, and replaced on the roster by Laquan Williams.

Williams never even made it to gameday, and we've seen rookie receiver Kenbrell Thompkins reclaim his role on the team. Thompkins was hurt against the Texans however, and fellow rookie Aaron Dobson has been struggling with a foot injury.

Enter, Collie. Who we all thought was injured.

Whatever Collie's injury was, we assumed it was serious since he was released by the team so quickly. Either way, it seems as if he is back and ready to contribute, which is a good sign. Collie played well in his limited time, eventually unseating Thompkins on the depth chart as noted above. It's good to see him back, as it seemed like the Patriots were his last chance in the NFL after he's struggled with injuries throughout his career.
