Rex Ryan on missing the playoffs

Chances are, Rex Ryan is coaching his last game with the New York Jets, but you really never know with owner Woody Johnson. As he attempts to save his job with a win against the Dolphins, Ryan spoke about the disappointment he and the organization feels about their struggles the last few years.
“Well, obviously we’ve had a lot of good moments. We’ve had some down moments. I don’t like the fact we haven’t been to the playoffs for three straight years. That’s a huge thorn in my side and everybody else’s, this team’s, even in our building."
He probably should have said, "some good moments" and "a lot of down moments" instead of the other way around. Lets be honest, losing two years in a row in the AFC Championship game are probably only good moments for the Jets. Ryan continues on to say:
"The reason I say [that is because] it represents the commitment the organization has and the goals of the organization, the goal of the organization is to win championships and multiple championships and we haven’t done that. I haven’t been successful at doing that yet. I understand that. We’ve had some moments where we’ve been close but we haven’t gotten there. The biggest disappointment is the fact that we haven’t gone to the playoffs in three straight years.”
It's a good laugh seeing that the goal of the organization is to win championships. Obviously it is the goal of every franchise, but the thought of the Geno-Sanchez-Ryan Jets winning a championship just tickles me a little bit. @joeloobs @PatriotsLife
