If Seahawks cut Sidney Rice, should Patriots sign him?

Let's remember what he did to us in the "U Mad Bro?" game.  We could use that...

After winning the Super Bowl, the Seahawks would like to keep their key pieces in Seattle. Two big names heading into free agency are wide receiver Golden Tate and d lineman Michael Bennett. Ian Rapoport has a suggestion how the Hawks can resign both players:

Sidney Rice is set to make $9.7 mm next year and if the Seahawks release him, that'll free up $7.3 mm in cap space. So why do we care?

While Rice is about as fragile as a China cabinet, when healthy, he still is a reliable deep threat. At 6'4" and 202, Rice has the kind of body (and he has the hands) that makes for a strong outside receiver, something the Patriots are seriously lacking and should look to improve in free agency.

In Rice's last full 16 game season (2012), he ended with 50 catches, 748 yards and 7 touchdowns. His best season stats wise was with Brett Favre back in 2009 where he had 83 catches for 1,312 yards and 8 touchdowns.

Obviously with the recent pick up of injury prone Amendola, we fans and the team itself, should be hesitant about taking another injury prone wide receiver. That being said, if he comes at the right price, with something to prove, he could be a strong veteran in the locker room and help nurture receivers like Dobson.
