LeGarrette Blount visiting with Pittsburgh Steelers today, signing possible

LeGarrette Blount was kind of an afterthought for most of the 2013 campaign.

Until, of course, he turned into a beast in the final two weeks of the season and then carried that over to the team's divisional round win over the Colts.

Over three games, Blount had 613 total yards and 8 touchdowns. So, yeah, Patriots fans want him back.

Unfortunately, the runner is visiting with the Steelers today, who could be very interested in signing him.

The Pats acquired Blount by trading away running back/track runner Jeff Demps last season. He was making 1.25 million last year, but will likely be looking at a paycut on the open market. The Steelers are probably his highest suitor right now and they only have $1,051,934 in cap space.

While Pittsburgh has last year's second round draft pick, Le'Veon Bell, on the roster they will be looking for some depth. Blount is the kind of hard nosed, goal-line runner than any team could use situationally at the very least. The fact that he has the capability to erupt and play like a star occasionally doesn't hurt either.

Blount has indicated he wanted to return to New England, and the team reportedly does have interest in bringing him back, however this visit is not a good indication that a reunion will happen.
