Patriots hosting Kenny Britt today

Back in December, wide receiver Kenny Britt told a Nashville newspaper that if he were not resigned by the Tennessee Titans, then he will be sure to bring his best efforts to whatever team lands him:
"I am going to tell you: I am going to be a No.1 receiver somewhere else if I am not here next year, and that is guaranteed," Britt told the Nashville Tennessean on Dec. 26. "I am definitely going to be a receiver that makes plays on Sundays and makes something happen for a team."

Sounds like the former 30th overall pick has a chip on his shoulder since being poorly handled (at least in his opinion) by the Titans. Kenny Britt is now a free agent set to visit the New England Patriots on Monday followed by a trip over the Washington to meet with the Redskins. At 6-foot-3 and 215 lbs, Britt has the prototypical build for an outside receiver while also possessing some freakish athleticism. With Britt's talent and ability, it would seem like a no-brainer for fans to want him on their favorite team.

Pump the brakes though, as Britt has had multiple run-ins with the law in addition to criticism for his team efforts. Though his offenses may not have been anything major, they certainly were not anywhere close to being minor either; careless driving, uncooperative with police, arrest by a narcotics officer. Now, is Britt a poison to a locker room or just another hot head that Bill Belichick and Co. are notorious for morphing into great football players and solid citizens? We may not know that for sure, but if the wide receiver out of Rutgers does sign with the Patriots after his visit today, we can assume it would be the latter.
