Adrian Wilson thanks the Patriots

Veteran safety Adrian Wilson's not-so-surprising release from the Patriots recently has answered more questions than it brought up. Nobody is truly shocked by Wilson being cut, but that does not mean fans/players weren't bummed. As for Wilson, he sent out a tweet a few days ago that seemed to be straightforward and to the point:

Was it the most sincere and heartfelt goodbye? Not by any means, but not much should be expected from a guy that never saw the field with his new team. As a veteran, one can only imagine that Wilson was disappointed but understanding with the news of his release. He kept things classy and thanked the team for the opportunity when in truthfully he did not have to do that at all.

It is hard to image that any Patriot player is considerably upset at Wilson's departure when the reality is that #24's playing time was non-existent. Captain and fellow safety Devin McCourty did take to Twitter though, where  he admitted to hating that they never got to play together, but enjoyed the time Wilson spent with the team. Interest in Adrian Wilson from other NFL teams has been quiet.
