Patriots bringing in some sexy names for workouts

So every year, teams are allowed to have a certain number of workouts and visits (I believe the number is 30) with incoming rookies to meet them, hang out with them, work them out, see how Gronk and Manziel party together, etc.

Some players are brought in because the team is interested in drafting them, some players because the team wants to learn more about them in case they go to an opponent, some player even are brought in for teams to have records of them for when they eventually hit free agency in the NFL. Don't laugh, that is true. Teams plan that far ahead.

Pro Football Talk recently released an unofficial list of conducted or planned predraft visits from all 32 NFL teams.

So reading through this list is cool and all, seeing which players teams have or plan on bringing in, but all the excitement in the world comes when you read the list of players the Pats are bringing in. The list includes: Dri Archer, Teddy Bridgewater, Deone Bucannon, C.J. Fiedorowicz, Marqise Lee, Johnny Manziel, Stephon Tuitt, Dominique Easley and Demarcus Lawrence, not to mention they've also brought in Mike Evans, Kelvin Benjamin, Jace Amaro, Austin Seferian-Jenkins, and Troy Niklas.

Basically the Patriots are bringing in some 'sexy' names and that could mean huge things for this team and this draft. While a few of these players most likely won't be available at 29, the Patriots are obviously doing their homework in case a player does fall for whatever reason, the Pats can capitalize and know exactly what kind of player they're getting.

What does this mean for the draft?

First, there is a big offensive trend here so I would expect the Patriots to go offense in the first round, particularly if any of the tight ends are available. I could also see the Patriots being the little kid on sugar and bouncing all over the first round; moving up for a player or dropping down in order to get picks and get more prospects.

It's getting sexy out in Foxboro.
