Easley contract talks hit a snag, Garoppolo remains unsigned

The Patriots created some headlines when they drafted former top highschool prospect in Dominique Easley and followed that up with Tom Brady's heir apparent in Jimmy Garoppolo. However, while most of the top draft picks around the league finalize their first NFL contracts, the top two picks from the Patriots remain the team's only two rookies that are unsigned. It should be noted that a contract does not need to be signed in order for rookies to participate in non-contact practices prior to training camp

While news on Garoppolo's contract negotiation (or lack thereof) has not surfaced, there has been multiple reports surrounding Easley's. According to Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald, Easley is one of 10 first round picks that remains unsigned. Though this is not a major issue as of now, it is reported that there was a fairly significant speed bump while finishing contract talks and no deal seems to be imminent. This should not cause any panic by Patriots fans though, as the finalization in contract signings typically centers around specific details and guaranteed money.
